Q. When booking online, if a client wants two lanes, how does the booking system handle that? Does it look for two consecutive lanes no matter what or does it look for a pair of lanes (as lanes 3-4)?
A. The booking system looks for a pair of lanes.
As we can see here below, YES, two consecutive lanes (4 and 5) are available at 9pm, but they are on two different pairs (one on 3-4 and one on of 5-6).
When we try to book for 10 people at 9pm, the system suggests 11pm so that the group can be on a pair of lanes.
If the reservation on lane 6 is moved to lane 4, a pair of lanes becomes available at 9pm.
The booking system now offers a pair at 9pm.
Only one available means that there is only one possibility to book two consecutive lanes (a pair of lanes) at 9pm. If we wanted to book one lane, the system would have mentioned Only two available.
