Globalisation of the Averages

More and more bowling centres want to generate a global list of all the averages, of all the league bowlers, to facilitate searching for averages on a specific date when organising tournaments.  Not knowing this function in Lexer, league managers look in every league, one by one, and compare averages.  It is time-consuming!

Here are the steps to generate this list.

Weekly League Update

1) Every week, when the league is done, retrieve the scores as usual.  Make sure that all the scores are right and upload the results to the Internet.

2) Click the more options button to Create Web Site Page and click Synchronize All Data.

3) This window opens up.  Click OK.  Click the little brown diskette at the top right to save the modification.  That's it!

4)  Every week, repeat these three steps so that the averages are always up-to-date.

Generate the Global List of Bowlers at a Specific Date

1)  In Manager, go to Management and Members.

2)  Select one bowler, any bowler.  The bowler becomes purple.

3)  On your keyboard, hit the CTRL key and the letter A.  This should select all the bowlers.

4)  Click Recherche de statistiques (search for statistics).

5)  On the left, there are some filters.  Select the Competitions tab.

  • Season: Click the drop-down and select Customize.
  • If necessary, modify the from date (most of the time, I go with a date a little bit prior to the start of the season either in August or in September).
  • Modify the to date (for instance, if you want the averages on December 31, select that date).
  • Click Apply Filters at the top.

6)  By default, the averages are from the highest to the lowest.  You may sort the list by alphabetical order.  If you print the list to help the bowlers find someone with X average, go with Average.  If you print the list for yourself to get the averages for a tournament, go with alphabetical order.  Click the drop-down under Sort by and select Label.

7)  If a bowler bowls in more than one ligue, you see all the leagues he bowls in.  The example below does not show this though.  These guys bowl in one league only.  So, the average you see next to his name is his overall average.  The averages you see below are those of each league.

8)  The overall average can be disabled by selecting the option Show only Name for Players.

9)  This list can be printed.

10)  Click Close at the bottom right when finished and click Competitions.
