At some point, you may consider there are just too many people with their hands in the pot. Some will try to make modifications to a league with the points and handicap rules and stuff, but it creates more confusion and more problems in the end. Going backwards to fix the issues can be like searching a needle in a haystack. You may decide to restrict the use of Lexer by setting up a password for the software as a whole or to (certain) leagues.
Setting up a Password to Lexer
1) Go to Tools > Options.
2) Click Miscellaneous (6th tab).
3) At the bottom left, enter a password. Enter the password again under Confirmation.
4) Click OK to confirm and exit out from the Options window.
5) Next time someone opens Lexer, it will ask for a password.
6) If the password is wrong, Lexer will tell.
The password can be disabled by going back to Tools > Options > Miscellaneous and deleting it under Password.
Setting up a Password to a League
1) Select the name of the league in the grey bar (just below Edit League). The bar becomes purple.
2) Click the more options button attached to Edit.
3) From the list of options, select Edit Security.
4) Click the drop-down of Security Type and select Accessible with password.
5) Enter the password twice.
6) Leave it at Guest.
7) Click OK to confirm and exit out from this window.
8) Click the little brown diskette at the top right to save the modifications.
9) Next time someone opens the league, the buttons will be displayed like this (without the password). The only actions that can be done are those on the right (as Prepare Week, Retrieve Squad Scores, Print Recap Sheets, etc.).
10) In order to access the league as normal, click the expander at the top right.
11) Lexer will ask for the password.
12) And now the view is the same as what you have experienced in the past.
You can disable this password by going back to selecting the league in the grey bar > More options button attached to Edit > Edit Security > Change the Security Type to No security > OK.
