Definition: Discounts can be applied from the POS window (any item) or the payment window (opening a lane). A discount can be applied to a single item or to all the items on a bill.
How to create a new discount:
1) Go to Setup > POS Setup > Discounts.
2) Click New at the bottom.
- Name: Enter the name of this new discount.
- Rate vs Fixed amount: Select the type of discount. Click the blue bar to open a window on which you will apply the value of the discount. It can be dynamic, which means that the discount does not have to be applied 24/7. It can be applied to a specific day or a specific period of time... as the Happy Hour.
- Authorization required: If checked, only the operators with the Apply Authorization Required Discounts privilege are able to apply this discount. The duty manager or general manager has to come to the front desk and enter his credentials to allow the employee to apply the discount.
- Apply discount also to the other bowlers: If checked, a discount given to a member (see below) is also applied to the other bowlers joining him. The discount is applied to the whole bill (relatives and friends). For instance, if a 10% discount is applied to member John Johnson every time he comes to bowl, Eric Erikson and Julie Taylor (John's friends) get the same discount. If the option is not checked, the member's discount is applied to member John Johnson, period.
- Member category only: If checked, only the FBT members are allowed to get this specific discount if it is associated to a category of members. Refer to Back Office > FBT > FBT Setup to apply a discount to a category.
3) Click Save at the bottom right and exit out.
When opening up a lane, select the Discounts button at the bottom of the payment window and select the discount to be applied to this transaction. Also, select if the discount has to be applied to the previously selected items or to the entire bill.
When selling an item from the POS, select the discount before moving to the payment window.
